How it all started...
Liberty Church began its journey as Anchor Baptist Church, a congregation that thrived in its early days but eventually faced challenges as it lost its direction and vision. After a season of trials, the decision was made in 2020 to let go of the past and start anew. Anchor Baptist was shut down, and from its roots, a new church was replanted with a fresh outlook and renewed purpose.
During this season of change, God sent a champion to guide and encourage us, helping us navigate through this rebirth. We were blessed with the support of mission teams from Alabama who traveled to Alaska to assist with the completion of our building and to help with outreach and ministry efforts.
Through God’s providence, our building was completed, and our church family was renewed with a sense of purpose and vision. Liberty Church emerged with a clear mission to serve our community, share the Gospel, and work together to accomplish God’s work. We are excited about the future and committed to continuing the work He has called us to do.

Expanding the vision...
As we continue to follow our calling to serve, we have seen God stir our hearts with a deep concern for other local churches in our community. Alaska, often called the "Lost Frontier," is a unique mission field that can sometimes be overlooked by the wider church community in the Lower 48. Our vision to meet the needs of our community extends beyond just our own congregation; it includes helping to strengthen and support other churches on the island.
We recognize that God is calling us to provide resources that will help other congregations fulfill their missions. One of our key initiatives is building a camp that can be a place of retreat and growth for all local churches. We are also assembling work teams to assist with various projects at other churches, partnering with construction teams from Alabama who have come alongside us in this effort.
Through these partnerships, we believe we can make a greater impact together, expanding the Kingdom of God here in Alaska and beyond.

Where we are headed...
Only God knows where He will lead us on this journey here on earth. Our ultimate goal is simple: to reach the lost and see God add to His numbers. We desire nothing more than to glorify Him in all we do and to seek His will above all else.
As we move forward, we remain committed to following His guidance, serving our community, and supporting our fellow believers. Wherever He takes us, we trust in His plan and look forward to the future with faith and hope.
